This afternoon we were inducted into screen printing. I’d done screen printing before but with less professional equipment so I was really excited to learn more in-depth. The overall method takes a while to set up but once it was you could turn out prints really quickly. It would be perfect for printing cards. I made a skull and k stencil which were good sizes, they weren’t too small and didn’t cause me any trouble. One thing I did learn was that I need to load up my board more, you want more ink rather than less. Some of my prints came out a little patchy as a result of this. I found it frustrating but now I know for the future. I’d love to use this method again to make some stand out prints, the block colours look extremly striking. Maybe next time I could try multiple colours to achieve overlays and play with colours.
